2009 Grindstone Scholarship
April 25, 2009 (Knoxville, TN) - The University of Tennessee Men's Rugby Club and the Volunteer Rugby Foundation presented the 2009 Grindstone Scholarship Award at its annual awards banquet on Friday night.
First awarded in 2007, the Grindstone Scholarship was created as a way to recognize and reward those players that are dedicated to their education and the rugby club. The award will be provided each year to club members with a commitment to UT Rugby and strong work ethic. The overall intent of the award is to lessen the financial burden for the student athlete that may be working or borrowing to assist in the funding of their education.
This year, UT Rugby is pleased to award the
2009 Grindstone Scholarship to the following student:
Jonathan Houck, a third year student from Knoxville, TN (Farragut High School) |
