Dr. Michael Casey
Team Physician
Dr. Michael Casey is a board certified physician who began his formal study at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis, Tennessee.
After the completion of his residency at the University of Texas, Dr. Casey went on to accomplish his fellowship at the Unisports Sports Medicine Clinic in Auckland, New Zealand. While in New Zealand, he was a physican for the All-Blacks and a number of NPC and Super 12 teams.
He is a member of multiple associations, including the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and was named Sports Medicine Person of the Year in 2008. In addition to his support of Tennessee Rugby, Dr. Casey’s expertise in Sports Medicine and love for athletics are realized in his involvement with the Sevier County Schools and the Knoxville Mens Rugby Team.
Dr. Casey sits on the board of the Smoky Mountain Athletic Club and has been a dedicated supporter of high school rugby in East Tennessee since it began in 2001.
In addition, Dr. Casey has recently become involved in medical missions work to Haiti.
