Tennessee Rugby Selects Captains
February 02, 2012 (Knoxville, TN) The University of Tennessee Men's Rugby Team has selected the captains for the 2012 season. Four seniors were selected to lead the Volunteers in to the Southeastern Collegiate Rugby Conference schedule that begins on February 04 against Vanderbilt University at the Tennessee Rugby Park.
Nick Evans - Nick is a 4th year Senior (Center) majoring in Logistics from Brighton, Tennessee where he played rugby for the Brighton Storm leading the team to the Tennessee High School State Championship in 2008. Evans has represented the South Territory in Olympic Rugby and also was selected to the South Under 21 that played the Cayman Islands in December.
Matt Johnson - Matt is a 4th year senior (#8) from Knoxville (TN) where he played rugby for West High School. Johnson, majoring in Agriculture Economics, is a repeat selection as captain having also served the team in 2011.
Matt Neuhart - Neuhart is a 4th year senior (Lock) from Knoxville (TN) where he played rugby for Farragut High School. Matt is majoring in Sociology with the emphasis in Criminal Justice and will begin a career in law enforcement upon graduation in May.
Nick Vigder - Vigder is a 4th year senior (Flyhalf) from Bayside, Wisconsin where he played rugby for Nicolet High School. Nick, a mechanical engineering major, represented the South Territory on the Under 21 team against the Cayman Islands in December.
