The Men’s Rugby Team of the University of Tennessee has announced the permanent captains for Team 48 (2017-2018).
The Captain is charged with Leading, Protecting and Promoting the attributes and characteristics of Tennessee Rugby to his teammates.
Senior scrumhalf majoring in History (Education) from Arrington, Tennessee (Franklin Christian Academy / Ravenwood Rugby)
Travis returns for his final year of rugby having captained the team in 2016-2017. His leadership on and off the field continues to set a very high standard for his teammates.
Sophomore hooker majoring in Mechanical Engineering from Goodlettsville, Tennessee (Pope John Paul II HS / Sumner Rugby)
Creighton's maturity and consistent performance will serve him very well as a team captain. His ability to grasp the team pattern of play and strategy is an integral part of the forward packs success.
Senior flanker majoring in Communications from Nashville, Tennessee (Father Ryan HS)
Dylan is the prototypical "lead by example" captain. His high work rate in both practice and games, physical impact on the game and his go forward only attitude sets a tremendous example for his teammates.
Senior flyhalf majoring in Food & Agriculture Business from Murfreesboro, Tennessee (Oakland HS)
Sam's emergence as the team's flyhalf after spending most of his career at wing/fullback is an example of his ability and willingness to rise to the challenge of helping his team be successful. His commitment and leadership in the UT backline sets a high standard of productivity.
