Volunteers come from behind to defeat Colorado State
October 16, 2009 (Fort Collins, Colorado) — Tennessee recovered from a three try deficit to overtake Colorado State in the opening day of the 2009 Fall Break Tour. Falling behind 0-19 in the first half, the Volunteers never panicked, adjusted to the whistle and eventually overtook the well drilled Rams from CSU. UT used good open play possession to score three tries in 8 minutes only to see CSU answer with a try of their own while the Vols were down a man to a yellow card. Back to full strength with 5 minutes to go, the Volunteers - led by some excellent play from Nick Evans, Jared Wilson and Jonathan Brown - ran across two tries to secure the victory.
UT opened the tour with the B match against CSU and after settling some unsteady restarts, ran across 3 tries to earn the victory. Solid defense and great effort kept the Rams out of the try zone until the final minutes.
