2009 Fall Break Tour
October 15-18, 2009 (Denver, Colorado) — 39 players and 6 coaches traveled to Denver, Colorado for the 2009 fall break tour that featured spirited matches against Colorado State and Colorado. The Volunteers went 3-1 for the tour with a come from behind win over national ranked Colorado State University and a narrow defeat at the hands of nationally ranked University of Colorado.
A huge thanks for the family, friends and Old Boys that came out to watch and in many cases assisted the Volunteers on tour. Faces in the crowd included the family's of Hunter Lee, Jared Wilson, Benji Goff, and Joel Fugate. Old Boys spotted over the weekend included Jerry Godfrey (and his wife Teresa), Brendan Scanlon, and Michael Jackson.
And finally, a special thanks to both the University of Colorado and Colorado State University of two spirited days of rugby and excellent hospitality. The standard of play was everything that the Volunteers expected and more. Our apologies to CSU for not being able to stay longer in Fort Collins.
