Tennessee Rugby again this year assisted the Friends of the Smokies in their annual Evergreen Ball on January 28. This black tie fundraising event is held each year to raise money to benefit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
The event, held at Cherokee Country Club, includes dinner, a silent and live auction, and this year raised over $725,000 for the national park.
The first group of UT players arrived early to set up for the event which included moving in silent auction items and setting up tables. The second group of players were on hand at the end of the event to break down the event and assist the attendees to their vehicles with their auction winnings.
Tennessee Rugby has a long history of supporting the Evergreen Ball and looks forward to this community service event each year.
Friends of the Smokies is an official nonprofit partner of Great Smoky Mountains National Park and has raised more than $55 million to support critical park programs and maintain the Smokies as a crown jewel of the National Park Service. For information, visit: FriendsOfTheSmokies.org
