Farragut High School's Jackson Powers has signed to play rugby at the University of Tennessee. In a ceremony at the school on Wednesday morning, Jackson committed to Tennessee Rugby in a ceremony attended by his friends family and coaches.
Powers (6'3" / 205 lbs) played his high school rugby for the Bearden Rugby Club where he has been coached by UT Alums Logan McNeil and Dwayne Archer. He excelled at lock and #8 over the past three seasons for the Bulldogs. He is a dual sport athlete that was also an accomplished offensive tackle for the Admirals which included a state title in 2016.
Jackson will study Pre-Med at Tennessee. He is the son of Michael and Julie Powers of Farragut and we are pleased to welcome the entire family to the Tennessee Rugby Family.
